TE Wire and Cable, located in Saddle Brook NJ, is looking for a Tower Operator to join our growing team! More specifically the Tower Operator:

Operates and maintains saturant towers for coloring and insulating fibrous materials. Is proficient in the use of various certified tower lines, ensuring efficient and quality production.

Responsibilities:

 Loads reels of wire onto a payoff stand. Loads empty reel onto the take up. Laces wire over various pulleys with a number of passes each time into a compound receptacle through a squeegee up through the oven and down to the take up.Fills the receptacle with the type of saturant per job requirement. Set the controllers for the required operating temperatures per specifications.Starts machine, checks wire as it passes through each squeegee and makes adjustments to ensure a smooth and sufficient amount of saturant. Mixes any material required per specifications.Maintains quality standards and runs machines at specification speeds.Operators are responsible for all activities on their machine for their shift.Set up machines to start a production cycle.Control and adjust machine settings (i.e., speed, temperature, etc.)Be aware of all functions while machine is operating.Fix issues that might occur during the shift.Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.Other tasks and duties may be assigned. Responsibilities will not be limited to the above.

Skills

Knowledge of process equipment, tooling and procedures in order to set up, operate, and maintain equipment work area in a safe, productive manner.Understanding of production procedures and preventative maintenance.Adherence to safety regulationsBasic math skills of addition and subtractionAbility to work efficiently, and effectively both independently, and collaboratively.Attention to detail.Teamwork and communication skillsPhysical stamina and strengthHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal & written)

Qualifications:

Preferred = 1-2 years of manufacturing experience

Required = High School Diploma or GED equivalent

2nd shift: Monday – Friday
