Position Summary:
\r\nThe PIT Operator is responsible for setting up evisceration areas and providing supplies such as pallet liners and cardboard. Removing totes with product and transfer them to the cooler or to shipping depending on the product. Must have PIT or forklift operating experience.
\r\nEssential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:
\r\nSet up Evisceration areas as required.
\r\nComplete the Pallet jack or forklift inspection sheet before use.
\r\nTransfer tote bins with product to the scale to register weight.
\r\nMaintain evisceration with enough supplies to run.
\r\nBring totes with ice to the parts salvage area.
\r\nBring one tote with CO2 (dry ice) to the gizzard area.
\r\nFollow our Company GMP policy
\r\nDo not get closer than 5’ feet to the birds without a smock on.
\r\nDo not take a smock inside the bathroom, or outside the plant, hang your smock on the hooks in the department.
\r\nEnsure the object being transported is centered on the pallet jack or forklift.
\r\nOperator is responsible for reporting any unsafe condition on the Pallet jack or forklift.
\r\nOperator is responsible for making sure the pallet jack is clean after use. (use a water pressure hose to remove any meat on the forks and under the battery cover if needed)
\r\nAt any time the employee brings pallets into the production area it’s the employee’s responsibility to make sure the pallets are cleaned (in the tote wash room). (All pallets should not have any meat or dirt on it)
\r\nPallets can only be brought into the production area stacked 6 high maximum.
\r\nDo not block emergency eye wash stations, emergency exits, or door ways.
\r\nHonk your horn when traveling through doorways, corners, blind spots or congested areas.
\r\n\r\n
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
\r\nProper PPE usage: The employee should be aware of the required personal protective equipment (Eye Protection, Hearing Protection).
\r\nPower Industrial Truck classroom and practical training
\r\nStretching exercises and how they relate to muscle fatigue
\r\n\r\n
Physical Requirements:
\r\nThis job requires the ability to grasp using one or both hands and to extend arms fully. Possible ergonomic risk factors for this job include repetition, awkward postures and/or excessive force. Monitor hands, wrists, and fingers for soreness.

\r\nWork with loud and noisy machinery
\r\nWork in dusty environment
