Principal Accountabilities:
To answer line calls on a production line during their shift on assigned area. Weekend work will be required to do inspections and preventative maintenance as assigned by the Shift Maintenance Supervisor. To complete work orders and preventative maintenance in their area of assignment. They also accomplish other work as assigned by the Shift Maintenance Supervisor. To maintain plant equipment by interpreting shop manuals and schematic drawings and through verbal instruction from supervision/co-workers. To accomplish work orders on schedule. If the work hour estimates are inaccurate, he/she must document reason for work deviation on the work order in order to facilitate better estimate accuracy for future work. To make recommendations to planners on jobs to be done, improvements to enhance machinery performance, and determination of scope and best way to accomplish the work as required. To support and participate in plant improvement project, reliability initiatives, or other plant programs in a positive manner. To ensure the safety needs are given a top priority in work execution and follows proper safety procedures at all times. To perform other duties as assigned by Shift Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain a safe neat and clean work area accordance with GMP and Good House Keeping Practices (GHP's) Communicate with co-workers and supervisors Follow all JSA guidelines Must adhere to all GMP and Food Safety Policies and Practices Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Job Classifications:
Must have mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools correctly and safely.
Must be able to operate shop equipment such as welders, lathes, grinders, and mills safely and accurately
Must have the ability to retain and recall detailed technical information.
Must performs precise measurements and tests.
Must be able to work with minimum supervision, in temperature extremes and high places, climbing ladder or Wave lift or on occasion in in flour/ingredient dust.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to ensure open and clear communication between team members, departments and/or customers.
Must follow company policies and programs including but not limited to Safety, HAACP, GMP, SQF.
Job Specifications (knowledge, skills, abilities, education, certification, and training normally required for competent performance in the job)
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or higher degree preferred. Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of industrial maintenance competency tests with a passing score. Have adequate craft knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and to visualize the job to be performed. Good planning and organizational skills. Ability to understand and follow instructions and ability to keep multiple jobs in control simultaneously. Computer skills; ability to learn and correctly utilize programs such as SAP. Understanding of the proper use of work orders, priorities; scheduling, etc.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
