3D Tumoroid Scientist

Job Description

The Cell Pharmacology group in the Department of Quantitative Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a background in immunology, oncology or cardiometabolic cellular assays to join our research laboratories in Boston. The primary tasks of the successful candidate will be to develop and characterize high throughput in vitro and ex vivo cell-based assays to support autoimmune, cancer, or cardiometabolic projects. These high throughput cell assays will use cell lines, primary human cells and human organoids.

Responsibilities:

Establish and characterize ex vivo translational models, including tumoroids and co-culture systems. Develop and optimize assays at scale to support potential compound screening, biomarker identification and mechanism of action studies.

Characterize and optimize in vitro assays at scale to support potential compound screening, biomarker identification and mechanism of action studies.

Evaluate the pharmacology of novel molecules, peptides, antibodies and other modalities for therapeutic potential in immunology, oncology or cardiometabolic indications.

Work with both internal and external stakeholders and manage cell reagent sourcing activities.

Maintain timely, accurate laboratory records of activities & comply with good documentation practices.

Effectively partner with integrated teams in a matrix organizational setting to contribute to the conduct of studies and to the success of discovery programs.

Required Education & Experience:

B.S./B.A. degree with a minimum 3 years of full-time relevant work experience; or a M.S. degree with a minimum 1 year of full-time relevant work experience.

Proficient in maintenance and troubleshoot of in vitro and ex vivo or translational or tumoroid models.

Experiences with basic molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, dPCR, Western blot, ELISA.

Candidate should be a strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience with primary human cells and ex vivo translational models

Experience in the selection, optimization and characterization of effective immunology, oncology, or cardiometabolic assays
