Business Unit Overview 8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities Position Summary: The 3PL Distribution Manager will drive strategic actions to support business growth targets, and deliver excellent customer service, responsiveness, and overall cost initiatives. The leader will foster and encourage a culture of engagement, innovation, productivity, and positive morale. In addition, the leader must have experience in implementing top-tier warehouse operating principles, inventory control, lean methodology, introducing processes, technology, and techniques that add efficiency to the supply chain. Duties and Responsibilities: Standardize and implement top-tier warehousing practices, material flow, systems, and capabilities across 3PLs. Provide direct oversight of all 3PL’s driving weekly, and monthly KPIs, and performance reviews on the 3PLs and warehousing network, overall space requirements, inventory accuracy, and overall system connectivity. Strengthen the flow of material, information, and communication across the supply chain to effectively manage the “order to delivery” process for 3PLs. Work with the Sr. Distribution Manager to resolve customer supply chain challenges/changes through the coordination of internal and external resources including third-party suppliers. Work with multiple departments to analyze where product is to be placed in the network to ensure the most efficient storage and delivery to customers yet controlling replenishment costs. Assist Transportation and Customer Service to help resolve any 3PL concerns that impact deliveries to or customer shipments out of those facilities. Provide multiple departments information and reports as it pertains to constraints in the 3PL’s that impede movement or sale of products to include such areas as end of life and Quality concerns. Work closely with other team members on Inventory. This includes ensuring adjustments, validation of DC to ERP inventory quantities, product availability for shipment, aging and expired inventory and communication to relative departments or team members on inventory concerns. Assist in the CHEP/PECO accounting, review, and inventory management. Other duties as assigned by management. Education, Experience and Certifications Required: Bachelors’ Degree (BA/BS) from a four (4) year college or university, along with 5+ years of progressive warehousing / logistics management or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience in the Food/CPG/B2B across warehousing as an operator, 3PL. Solid understanding of inventory processes across both plant and 3rd party facilities. Must be fluent in the English language. Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License. Leadership and Behavior Skills: Ensures Accountability: Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments. Other Preferred Skills: Intermediate proficiency with JD Edwards ERP system desired. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint. Deployment experience on where to place inventory in a multi facility network. Physical Requirements: This position is regularly required to communicate with others, both oral and written. This position is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel: This position may travel up to 25% of the time.
