3rd Shift FSQA Technician II- Make
Job Overview

The Cheese Make Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician supports the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record/product review and inspections.

Job Responsibilities Conduct analytical and performance tests on raw materials, cheese, whey, and all by products; and effectively document and communicate results.  Complete investigatory swabbing and aid with remediation investigations and action implementation.  Inventory laboratory supplies. Complete proficiency testing and split samples.  Lead product retesting and ANSI inspections.  Complete and record monitoring and verification actives.  Enter results into various computer software programs.  Review HTST Charts. Complete calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance on all laboratory and receiving equipment. Ensure that records, logs, and data are in compliance with associated regulatory and company requirements. All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures           All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program. Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership. Maintain company confidentiality. The pay for this position is $23.95-$24.95. All offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations. Required Education and Experience High School Degree       Knowledge/understanding of chemical and physical processes relating to cheese quality.   Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.    Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally. Basic Computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.  Preferred Education and Experience Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field  Food Manufacturing experience, preferably in dairy and cheese make 1 year of FSQA Technician experience SAP experience HACCP Certification Working Conditions • Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.• Work is performed in a lab setting.• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.• Work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 60-80 degrees F.EEOC & Disclaimer Great Lakes Cheese is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer.Great Lakes Cheese strives for continued vendor diversity.
