3rd Shift Lab Technician III

**Adecco** is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented **3rd Shift Lab Technician** to join our team in Lakewood, NJ. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and compliance of raw and packaging materials, as well as the finished products. **Position Overview:**
As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
+ Audit raw and packaging materials upon receipt to ensure compliance with specifications, and maintain retained samples as appropriate.
+ Test raw and packaging materials for key attributes such as color, texture, flavor, appearance, and other relevant attributes.
+ Record test results and information on standardized forms and/or ERP systems. Perform corrective actions for any out-of-specification results.
+ Perform key ERP transactions for inventory such as releasing, rejecting, and holding.
+ Help maintain files and documentation for specifications and Certificates of Analysis. Ensure proper updates of materials to reflect cancellations, supersedes, and FTOs.
+ Control non-conforming products through QNs, including product segregation, sampling, and communication across departments from initial notification to corrective action.
+ Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., refractometer, automatic titrator, pH meter, scale, CEM, color charts).
+ Use SPC to identify trends, out-of-control conditions, and non-conformance to specifications, working with the appropriate personnel to correct processes.
+ Test finished and in-process products for attributes such as pH, salt, density, moisture, color, texture, flavor, temperature, yeast, mold, and more.
+ Audit production lines for key quality attributes including code dates, fill weights, metal detection, and package integrity.
+ Sample and ship product samples for microbiological testing, customer, and corporate requests.
+ Inspect equipment and perform microbiological swabbing to evaluate cleaning effectiveness.
+ Follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately to ensure product safety, consistency, and quality.
+ Clean and maintain all laboratory and Quality areas.
+ Promote safety and identify unsafe conditions using a principle-based safety approach.
+ Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
+ Report all food safety and quality issues.
+ Perform other duties as required.
**Qualifications:**
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
1. **Minimum one year of lab experience** or equivalent, with a solid understanding of raw materials, packaging materials, and microbiological testing preferred.
2. **One year of microbiological testing experience** or completion of a college-level microbiology course is preferred.
3. **Minimum one year of college-level science courses** preferred.
**Preferred Skills & Experience:**
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
+ Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
+ Experience with ERP systems.
+ Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) methods.
+ A commitment to promoting safety and quality standards.
**Pay Details:** $23.00 per hour
