Your role and responsibilitiesElectrical: Troubleshooting control problemsReading electrical printsUnderstanding PLC’s and their programsTroubleshooting VFD controls and motorsInstalling conduit and pulling wireMechanical: Reading mechanical drawings and assembly printsGearbox and mechanical drive repairsMechanical punch press repairConveyor repairsBrake and clutch replacementsHydraulic: Reading hydraulic prints and understanding how a basic system worksTroubleshooting hydraulic issuesComponent identification and replacementPneumatics: Reading schematics and understanding how systems workTroubleshooting problemsGeneral Maintenance responsibilities including: Welding and fabricationPainting, building maintenance, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning (limited)Preventative maintenanceOther tasks as directed
Qualifications for the roleHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, Trade school or college classes preferred.Prefer (8) eight years’ experience in Industrial Manufacturing environment as a Maintenance MechanicIndustrial Electrician with blue print reading skills, PLC and electronics knowledge strongly desiredMust be able to read and understand written and verbal directionsMust be able to interpret various measuring devices, have good shop math and mechanical abilitiesHave the ability to troubleshoot, in a timely manner, different types of problems with automated machinery, presses, furnaces, HVAC, some plumbing, and other types of equipment as neededMust be able to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment and repair itMust be able to read and understand mechanical drawings/blueprints and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematicsMust be able to weld, have good use of hand tools, power tools and test equipmentGood team player, with displayed ability to work independently and safelyCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
