The Machine Line Team Leader assists the Machine Line Supervisor and the Machining Operations Manager with the development and continued success of the team and the operation. As a coach of the Machine Line, the ML Team Leader; in conjunction with the ML Supervisor and Machining Operations Manager, will assess requirements, develop plans, and provide needed materials; thus assuring that the work area is safe and that the product produced meets or exceeds customer expectation with regard to quality and productivity.Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees that the below skills are implemented and maintained:SafetyProductivityConductHousekeeping/5SQualityProper Machine Operation.Verifies that documented procedures and instructions are being followed:Standard Operating ProceduresRework and Work InstructionsPreventive Maintenance InstructionsInspection Instructions (MQP)Reaction PlansProcess Set-up InstructionsBoundary SamplesFrequently reviews the quality of products following each process and provide immediate feedback to Machine Line SpecialistsGenerate and recommend solutions to production problems and suggest corrective action to ensure quality standards, policies and procedures are adhered tooAssign, train and rotate Machine Line Specialists in an effort to build a solid teamFacilitates communication:Between operations within assigned LinesDevelop action plans to increase productivity and scrap reductionHold overlap communications meetingsConduct meetings with Team Leaders, Managers, Maintenance SpecialistsBetween LinesBetween ShiftsCheck and report status of supplies at the operation line and inventory levelsMaintain appropriate staffing levelsPrioritize, organize plant operationsMaintain a motivational climate of continuous improvementAnticipate, analyze, and diagnose production problems (tooling problems, equipment malfunctions, material or labor shortages, etc.)Maintains assigned roster and crewsWorks with team on changeovers/setups at required operationsPlan changes for minimum disruptionInsure production is recorded and verify the following for accuracy:Operation Productivity & Scrap Accountability LogsheetsFeedback on process and operationProvide input to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, etc.Monitor accuracy of production and quality reporting information with accountability for accuracy for crews/shiftsImplement and monitor all safety procedures with appropriate follow-up and corrective actions for unsafe conditionsIn addition to the above responsibilities, this position is responsible for other tasks as assignedRequired Skills and Education
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience in the Quality Assurance functionAssociate Degree in Applied Science in Business, Engineering or Manufacturing preferredEXPERIENCE
One year experience in manufacturing operations preferredA working knowledge of CNC Equipment, Robotics, & Automation and dip tank operation would be helpful but not requiredCOMPETENCIES
