KPIX has an immediate opening for a Technical Operations Center (TOC) Technician. The (TOC) Technician is responsible for working as a team with editorial staff and field crews in acquiring, routing and operating equipment for the KPIX News operation. 

JOB FUNCTION:

Duties include acquiring and routing technically accurate signals. A successful candidate must have a sound understanding of RF and evolving technologies with the ability to multi-task under deadlines. Bring a “can-do” approach to problem solving in a fast paced-high energy environment. Also, open to implementing new technologies and/or methods to accomplish future assignments.  Knowledge of RF principles (Microwave and Satellite tuning) DENG & DSNG truck operation skills a plus Safely operate news gathering equipment Knowledge of Cellular Bonding systems (Dejero, LiveU) Schedule and record live feeds Edit content quickly and accurately Make decisive technical choices in demanding situations

REQUIRED:

Excellent computer skills Skill in adapting to a rapidly changing atmosphere Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills Strong work ethic, positive & leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities a must. Excellent people and communication skills Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
