5 Axis CNC Programmer
Position: 5 Axis CNC Programmer  Luxfer Superform operates from Riverside, California (USA). We specialize in the Superforming of Aluminum, Titanium, and Magnesium alloys as a 1st Tier supplier to major OEMs. Established in 1974 Superform serves Customers in all the major markets including Aerospace.  Responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintenance of Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC), 5-axis production equipment (including 5-axis laser machine), and cutting/trimming sheet metal parts/components. THIS ROLE PREDOMINATELY INVOLVES THE OPERATION OF 5-AXIS CNC ROUTERS AND LASER MACHINES Responsibilities:  include, but, are not limited to the following.  Other duties may be assigned. + Machine set-up and first part buy  off. + Operate CNC machines (5 Axis machines) as needed. + Monitor and ensure parts meet manufacturing requirements. + Perform inspection of parts using measurement tools (calipers, height gauge, etc.) + Deburr parts as needed. + Read and understand CNC programs and determine the sequence of operations in the programs. + Review and manipulate 3D CAD designs and blueprints. + Have a sound knowledge of GD&T with respect to ASME Y14.5. + Write new programs and modify existing ones for increased efficiency. + Read, understand, and take appropriate corrective action to messages in programs. + Responsible for the basic upkeep and corrections to programs as well as the associated files, structures, and paperwork. + Apply basic mathematics to relate measured dimensions to product specifications. + Modify, update, and create Work Instructions for machinists. + Work directly with machine operators and engineers to develop and prove programs. + Check completed programs by running simulations and dry-run tests. + Analyze and select appropriate cutting tools and apply relevant speeds and feeds for cutting efficiency. + Monitor cutter usage and advise when low to replenish.                   + Direct operational and technical efforts of others as necessary. + Monitor machine output for quality and schedule completion. + Carry out First Article Inspection and Buy-off using the 6-axis Romer inspection arm and Verisurf + Make offset changes (PORs, datum shifts, etc.) as required to maintain part specifications. + Install tools and work holding ensuring length compensations are updated accordingly. + Change tool inserts as required to maintain part specifications. + Perform basic service checks per documented procedures. + Comply with all safety rules and regulations. + Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required. + Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal Regulations. Education and/or Experience: + 5+ years of previous experience in the field or in a related area. + Set up and programming capabilities on machining sheet metal and steel, aluminum, or composite tools. + Experience with Mastercam, Cenit (extension of Catia V5). + Ability to read blueprints and comprehend product drawings and models. + Accurate use of measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers. + Effective use of Statistical Process Controls and ability to complete charts. + Must be mechanically inclined with knowledge of metal shop work. + Superior computer programming skills. + Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Experience operating the following machines: Rye with Fagor control, Haas, VF9 with Trunnion, and Prima Laser. + Understanding of GD&T. + Must be familiar with safety requirements in the manufacturing area.
