Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager/Director of Pharmacy provides pharmaceutical care services to in-patients and out-patients. Provides professional drug information/advice to other health professionals. Dispenses medications and IV additive solutions and directs the routine activities of technicians. Accurately maintains legally required and other departmental records and assists in inventory control measures Efficiently performs other professional pharmacy duties including safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution, and control of all drugs. Notifies appropriate medical/nursing staff whenever appropriate drug therapy is questionable and provides provides professional drug information/advice to other health professionals. Actively supports and participates in pharmacy activities recommended by TJC and other regulatory agencies
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited school or College of Pharmacy. Three (3) to six (6) months of on-the-job experience is required to properly acquire a professional level of knowledge in pharmacy, acquire a working knowledge of legal standards and guidelines pertaining to pharmacy services, and acquire a working knowledge of inventory control and record keeping systems. Be able to develop suitable interpersonal skills. Current license as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Indiana (or eligible for reciprocity).
