8th Grade Volleyball -Assistant Coach (2 positions) JobID: 10422 + Position Type: Athletics/ Coach + Date Posted: 6/12/2023 + Location: Williams Jr High    Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships) +  Assist with supervision of all phases of the volleyball program--planning, strategy, instruction in fundamentals, and so forth. + Responsible for care and issuance of all volleyball equipment used by the team. + Communicate with high school coaching staff(s) and attend meetings or mini clinics at high school(s) to ensure continuity in the DCSD 7-12 grade volleyball program. + Understand, monitor and enforce district academic standards, policies and eligibility requirements. + Develop players to their fullest potential, starting with the basic fundamentals of the game of volleyball and progressing to skills beyond what is considered average. + Understand and promote good sportsmanship among student-athletes. + Complete required reports and record accurately and in a timely manner. + Has a thorough knowledge of and responsible for the athletic policy approved by the Board of Education. + Supervise players at all practices and games, as well as in the locker room and on the bus. + Must possess an enthusiastic attitude and ability to understand intermediate-aged youth in an athletic setting. + Work in cooperation with the building Activity Director and with the Director of Athletics for the Davenport Community Schools + Other duties as assigned by administration. + Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics. + Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential. + Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully    .
