A Family for ME Recruiter

The A Family for ME Recruiter is responsible for raising awareness regarding the need for foster\/adoptive parents in Kennebec and Somerset counties. Our recruiters perform community outreach using a variety of methods to find, engage and support prospective foster parents in the process of becoming licensed. The selected candidate will be part of a team of statewide recruiters and will engage in awareness and recruitment work both remotely and in-person across their assigned counties. This opportunity is well suited to outgoing individuals who enjoy meeting new people and engaging prospective foster parents and volunteers using both new and established recruitment strategies. The position is 20 hours per week with the potential of going to 40 hours. \n

DUTIES:\n\nRecruit foster families within the parameters of the DHHS contract. \nExplore and implement new, effective and creative recruitment strategies. \nMeet program performance goals.\nAccurately track recruitment strategies and results. \nInteract respectfully and effectively with people from diverse populations. \nRaise community awareness about the need for foster homes. \nCoordinate recruitment events and opportunities. \nSupport prospective families in completing the licensing process. \nAttend and participate in monthly meetings and updates with DHHS staff. \nPartner with other community resources as needed. \nMaintain the confidentiality of all foster parents and clients\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS:\n

A minimum of a high school diploma is required, and a college degree in a related field is preferred. Must be able to consider various perspectives and adjust your approach accordingly, be creative, engaging, and a consensus builder. Prior experience with public speaking, customer service delivery, social services, and\/or community engagement is preferred. This position requires local, workday travel and offers a flexible schedule that will include attending up to three evening or weekend events per month (when COVID safety allows again).\n
