A&P Mechanic
**Job Title: A&P Mechanic - Firefighting Fleet** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to join our team, specializing in the maintenance of firefighting aircraft. This includes Avro RJ 85 airtankers and next generation Canadair CL-415 "Super Scooper" amphibious aircraft. During the off-season, aircraft are fully repaired, refitted, and upgraded as necessary to ensure they are ready for the upcoming fire season. During the fire season, mechanics will rotate between the headquarters and various field locations, performing line and field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing all aircraft systems, including avionics. **Responsibilities** + Perform comprehensive maintenance on firefighting aircraft, including Avro RJ 85 airtankers and Canadair CL-415 "Super Scooper" amphibious aircraft. + Conduct full repairs, refits, and modifications during the off-season (October - May). + Execute all maintenance checks to ensure aircraft readiness for inspection by the end of March. + Rotate from headquarters to field locations during the fire season, engaging in line and field maintenance at fire bases across the western US. + Troubleshoot and repair all aircraft systems, including avionics, during deployments. + Maintain a steady Monday to Friday day schedule at the home base during off-season maintenance. **Essential Skills** + A&P License + 4+ years of aircraft maintenance experience + Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise + Experience with heavy and phase maintenance + Willingness to work overtime and in the field + Valid Driver's License **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Expertise in Avionics or Structures is highly preferred + Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially in field conditions **Why Work Here?** + Our team operates in a clean and well-maintained hangar, fostering a close-knit and collaborative environment. The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3 pm.
