A & P Mechanic - Los Angeles, CA
**Job Title: A & P Mechanic - Los Angeles, CA** **Job Description** + This position is based exclusively at our Los Angeles line maintenance station. + The primary responsibilities include repairing and maintaining aircraft/components per customer requirements, performing maintenance meet and greets, and communicating with flight crews about any inbound issues to perform necessary repairs. + The mechanic will conduct walkarounds to identify and address any maintenance issues, perform repairs or defer them as required, and work independently, often with little to no support. **Responsibilities** + Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. + Demonstrate proficiency with computers. + Possess a general knowledge of federal regulations. + Read and understand blueprints and aircraft wiring diagrams. + Legally operate a motorized vehicle. + Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems. + Perform all airframe and powerplant repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements. + Remove and disassemble defective parts; assemble and install replacement parts; test aircraft systems. + Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments. + Complete all required maintenance records accurately. + Accurately record time worked on work orders. + Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints. + Tow and park aircraft. + Perform other aircraft maintenance work as required. + Adapt to high-stress environments and handle issues with little to no support from additional manpower. + Troubleshoot and learn on the job effectively. + Communicate clearly and effectively with aircraft personnel. + Navigate aircraft maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals, and wiring diagrams as needed. **Essential Skills** + Possess a Valid A&P License. + Commercial experience needed. + High School Diploma or Equivalent. + Gen fam with the B747 series. + Excellent Communication Skills. + Line maintenance experience required. + Comfortable working independently with little to no support. + Experience and/or training on at least 2 aircraft types: A320, B737, B787, or B747. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical, as well as a background check. **Work Environment** + This position is located at Los Angeles International Airport. Flexibility in scheduling is mandatory, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. + The candidate's schedule will most likely be a split shift. + Candidates should have some tools; however, specialty tooling is provided. **Job Type & Location** This is a 6 month contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
