Bowhead is seeking an Audio-Visual Installation Technician to install equipment, IAW an approved Engineering Design Plan, under the direction of the Lead A/V Technician.
The A/V Technician, Installer may be tasked to assist during site surveys, utility plans, and system/facilities evaluations, in addition to the installation of associated equipment. The A/V Technician, Installer will possess or be willing to gain a general knowledge of A/V installation and the use of basic hand tools. You will communicate with the Lead A/V Tech relaying vital information about the install to them including, including but not limited to, client request, possible deviations from the install plan, delays, equipment issues, etc.
Responsibilities• Interpret and understand diagrams and schedules.
• Make record of equipment inventory.
• Perform installation of required equipment, cables, computer systems and associated facilities activities.
• Comply with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
• Install indoor fiber optic cable in large military structures.
• Install computers systems and equipment.
• Run low voltage copper cable.
• Organize, dress and label cables to industry standards.
• Perform drywall, wood, and concrete masonry firewall penetrations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety on job site.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0 – 3 years of A/V experience or similar experience
• Must be able to travel 50-75 percent of the time. Telecommute during none travel times.
• Experience using basic hand tools as an Audio-Visual Installation technician or in a similar role.
• Desire to obtain knowledge of the equipment installation processes and principles.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team collaboration skills.
• Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Currently there is no security clearance requirement. The successful candidate must successfully pass a T1 investigation. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.
Physical Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
