In this position, you will be responsible for the performance of the Maintenance Team on the assigned shift. What You’ll Be Doing:

Ensure team can work safely, including ensuring all tools, skills, and equipment are in place to perform work safely & correctly according to Sonoco policiesConduct shift handover meetings dailyReview new work requests in shift handover meetings. Ensure work that can be completed immediately is completed safely & correctly.Ensure tasks on the weekly schedule are assigned and completed. Moves work to other schedules as needed.Work with production team leaders to complete opportunity tasks during outages, changeovers, extended breakdownsEnsure technician training is completed and technician progression plans are reviewed periodicallyEnsure machine breakdowns are fixed properly.Ensure 5W analysis for breakdowns is completed as needed/ and entered into the databaseEnsure upcoming work orders are printed out for oncoming maintenance shiftCoordinate emergency facility maintenance work during on-shift emergencies (Plumbing, HVAC, Utilities, Facility Maintenance)Ensure 5S requirements in the Maintenance Shop Area are being followed according to the sustainment schedule

Providing necessary preventative maintenance and equipment reliability resources to maximize machine productivity while controlling costsSafety, productivity, and quality issues with machine repairsEmployee hiring, training, and development

Potential Challenges

Managing a diverse team of Maintenance Technicians to deliver consistent resultsReplacing skilled laborDriving productivity improvements and scrap reduction while ensuring timely and quality machine repairs

We’d love to hear from you if:

At least five (5) years of maintenance experience.Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
