AAI/Spalding - Staff Accountant
**Position Summary** American Athletic, Inc has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant at its Jefferson, Iowa facility. The Staff Accountant, with assistance, prepares month-end reconciliations, creates the monthly financial report, performs routine accounting activities, reviews financial statements against budgets, assists with cost analysis, and completes other ad hoc projects. This position ensures the timeliness and accuracy of accounting records including maintaining key general ledger accounts, completing balance sheet reconciliations, performing financial analysis, preparing financial reports, and completing weekly payroll processing for all hourly employees. **About AAI/Spalding** AAI/Spalding is a major sports equipment manufacturing company owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company. **AAI** is the official supplier and partner to USA Gymnastics and the NCAA, as well as a proud partner with the Federation Internationale De Gymnastique (FIG). **Spalding** is the largest basketball equipment supplier in the world. Our Jefferson, Iowa facility has been in operation and supporting our local community since 1954. **Specific Responsibilities** Perform general accounting activities. + Prepare and record financial entries. + Assist in completing month and year-end accounting close assignments as requested. + Create and distribute monthly operating and financial reports. + Complete monthly account reconciliation and analysis. Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies. Monitor daily business transactions. + Generate and review reports for daily business transactions including cash, A\P, bookings, and backlog listing. + Work with customer service, accounts receivable, and credit department to resolve account reconciliation issues as needed. + Manage petty cash and p-card purchases / payments; code and reconcile purchase transactions. Assist with budgets, forecasts, and planning based on input from department managers. + Monitor actual financial results. + Provide reports and feedback to leadership. Process weekly payroll and submit data to Corporate for payment. Complete ad hoc requests and special projects.
