POSITION SUMMARY:
The Center for Family Services' Head Start Program is seeking an experienced PreK thru 3 Grade Certified Teacher (C.E. P-3) or (C.E.A.S P-3). This teacher will work in a 10 month or 12-month district collaboration classroom. The P3 Teacher plans and guides the daily operations, activities and routines within their classroom. The Teacher maintains a safe and engaging classroom environment while observing students to document their daily accomplishments and progress. The Teacher also arranges home visits, parent teacher conferences and encourages family involvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The teacher treats colleagues and students as individuals with respect and dignity. Teachers promote and provide culturally competent student care. Teacher student interactions respond respectfully to the strengths and skills of diverse ethnicities, cultures and other diversity-related factors. Teachers plan learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of students while establishing a safe healthy and organized learning environment. P3 Teachers work together with the Teacher Assistant to provide a cohesive learning team to guide students individually and while working in groups. Teachers complete documentation and reports to assure the safety and compliance with all State licensing and Federal Head Start Standards. Teachers complete 15 hours of District Professional Development trainings along with monthly opportunities to attend professional development workshops on site. Teachers follow the Creative Curriculum, input checkpoint data, attend all staff meetings and activities, review student growth objectives, complete student assessments within the allotted timeframe. Teachers report any suspected child/elder abuse and/or neglect per NJ guidelines. Teachers are required to interact with staff, colleagues and funding sources in a professional manner in accordance with Center for Family Services' Code of Ethics.
REQUIREMENTS:
P-3 Certification required
Certificate of Eligibility or Standard (CE or (CEAS)
2 years supervisory experience working in a classroom setting
Must meet Head Start Mandates
Maintains First Aid and CPR Certifications
