Job SummaryThe Ross School of Business Office of Undergraduate Programs is the home to one of the nation's leading undergraduate business programs, providing students with an exposure to business disciplines within a broad liberal arts education. The Office of Undergraduate Programs houses admissions, academic advising and curriculum support functions; the Office also oversees and coordinates the current students' experience and provides community outreach programs to high school students and U-M first-year students. This role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI. May require work during early mornings, nights, or weekends. Domestic travel may be required. Purpose:
You will provide academic advising to current students, potential majors, and minors, offering guidance on curriculum matters, major exploration, university policies, and non-academic factors affecting academic performance. Through one-on-one and group sessions, the advisor supports students in developing long-term academic plans and career goals, assists with course selection, and ensures academic, personal, and professional success. You will discuss post-graduation opportunities, developing tailored strategies for career goals, and referring students to university resources, including psychoeducational assessments when applicable. You will report directly to the Associate Director of Academic Advising.

Academic Advising (55-65%)
Provide personalized academic advising on course selection, degree requirements, majors/minors, and university policies to undergraduate students pursuing the BBA degree or Business Minor.Help students create academic plans aligned with their goals and ensure degree completion.Verify academic records to confirm requirements for minor releases and degree conferral.Evaluate course applicability for degrees, including study abroad and transfer credits, and communicate decisions to students and offices.Conduct academic progress reviews for athletic certification in compliance with NCAA policies (if applicable).Advise specialized student groups or career paths requiring advanced expertise, such as dual degrees, pre-professional or pre-graduate tracks.Maintain confidential advising records in compliance with university policies, including FERPA.

Additional InformationSalary Information: Depending on your qualifications, this position may be filled at the Intermediate or Associate level. Associate level posting range: $45,100 - $53,000. Intermediate level posting range: $52,300 - $64,550. These posting ranges reflect multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
