Position Summary This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills and is essential for managing data-driven decision-making processes and operational efficiency within the School of Nursing. This Associate will collect, interpret and communicate patterns in academic data needed for accreditation, licensing and certifying bodies, and will assist in operations related to finance and HR processes. This position is critical due to reporting requirements by the UNC System, NC Board of Nursing, accreditors, certifiers and other entities. Provides leadership in the strategic and systematic collection of academic and student data and the discovery, interpretation, and communication of meaningful patterns in academic data including, but not limited to, student data, student learning outcomes and assessment data, academic program evaluation data and other data as needed by the School of Nursing, University, and accrediting, licensing and certifying bodies. Leads the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructures required to support student/academic data collection and assessment of student learning. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the departmental and program budget, tracking expenditures, managing financial records, and ensuring compliance with university and external funding guidelines. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Educational Administration, or a related field with 2-3 years of experience. Proficiency in data analysis and management, including experience with data collection tools and reporting systems. Ability to design and implement data systems for collecting and analyzing student learning outcomes, academic program evaluations, and other required metrics. Experience in managing budgets, tracking expenditures, and working with financial reporting systems. Ability to work with senior leaders in the SON to ensure that appropriate data is collected for accreditation, administrative and reporting needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks efficiently. Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Educational Administration, or a related field with 4-6 years of experience. Assessment experience in higher education and with academic data Advanced skills in Excel and Access databases. Percentage Of Time 40% Key Responsibility Data Collection & Interpretation Essential Tasks Lead strategic collection, analysis, and communication of academic data. Interpret patterns in academic and student data for use in accreditation, licensing, and certification. Oversee data on student learning outcomes, academic program evaluation, and other metrics critical for program success. Prepares reports/surveys and data collations for Dean, Associate Deans, and other academic leaders. Percentage Of Time 20% Key Responsibility Leads the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructures for data collection specific to nursing programs. Essential Tasks Designs databases for effective data management and collection. Maintains list of annual surveys and data needs.
