Academic Director & Full-Time Faculty

Overview
The Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology is hiring an Academic Director & Full-Time Faculty member and is approved by the New York State Education Department and is ASHA certified program. It offers a 58 credit Master’s degree program. Faculty members are involved in teaching, scholarly activities and service to the institution and the community.
Responsibilities
In addition to the traditional duties of the full-time faculty listed below, the academic director will:
+ Assist in all reports
+ Assist in budget
+ Assist and oversee admissions
+ Coordinate schedule of academic classes and calendar including start and end dates
+ Oversee registration
+ Oversee and help conduct open houses
+ Oversee and deal with student issues. Refer to chair if needed.
+ Coordination and integrity of student digital files. Check files periodically
+ Collaborate with faculty to identify students at risk.
+ Conduct peer reviews (or assign others to do so)
+ Special projects as designated by chair
+ Work closely with Chair on all ASHA reports and state submissions
+ Teach 2 courses per semester (release time from one course).
+ Advisement of students; Meetings must occur a minimum of once per semester.
+ Maintain completed advisement sheets after each session.
+ Complete and submit (to student, advisor, chair and in file) any problem alert and remediation forms.
+ Notify Department Chair of any changes in schedule, student issues and general problems.
+ Follow program and college procedures for submission of any requisitions, conference requests and travel.
+ Update CV annually
+ Submit annually ASHA and state licensures as they expire.
+ Complete required CEUs
+ Conduct end of semester self-reflections of students.
+ Participate in summer retreat, all faculty meetings, and all training session provided by the college.
+ Post official office hours.
+ Attend faculty meetings
+ Research and presentations
+ Clinical teaching may be possible
+ Participate in departmental and /or college wide committees
+ Prepare syllabi as needed in format used by the program.
+ Prepare course outlines each semester in format used by the program.
+ Provide course outlines, assign texts.
+ Conduct all scheduled classes: start and end classes on time
+ Special projects as designated by director
+ Submit annual report at the end of the academic year.
+ Supervise student’s completion of online surveys.
+ Mentor students when appropriate for research projects
+ Participate in Interprofessional activities of the college
+ Participate in scholarly activities such as research, publications, presentations, grant writing
+ Development of online courses if asked.
+ Participate in all online training
+ Participate in preparation for and attend all aspects of the site visit for reaccreditation
+ Oversee new programs (example women’s only acerated program
Qualifications
Education/ Experience
+ PhD or other doctoral equivalent in Speech Pathology or a related field from an accredited university
+ ASHA certification
+ Eligibility for State licensure
+ Research

+ Knowledge and experience in Adult Communications and Swallowing Disorders is a plus.
Maximum Salary
USD $115,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $92,000.00/Yr.
