Job Purpose or Objective(s): You will assist with academic skill building and employment skills to help Tribal Members to reach their potential in the job market so that they can be self-sustaining and successful in their endeavors. You will report to the Program Director.
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Primary Tasks:
You will prepare and submit monthly reports and other program-specific service-related data by the Director. Develop professional communications with economic development, workforce development, and employer representatives to maintain awareness of workforce issues affecting client training and employment opportunities. Maintain awareness of local workforce and hiring trends in order provide clients with appropriate connections to employers who offer opportunities aligned with their education. Use best practices of professional job searching strategies and assist clients in preparation for job interviews, employment application completion, and cover letter and resume development. You will provide individualized and group coaching sessions focused on increasing clients' employability and soft skills. Use the WorkKeys Curriculum system, or other standardized academic assessments, to assess client academic skill levels, design short- and long-range career-specific educational goals, provide appropriate skill building activities, and monitor client progress. Develop curriculum and instructional materials using input from representation of business and industrial groups. Provide individualized academic support and skill-building curriculum in reading, math, or other core educational topics to which align with and strengthen skills required for success within our client's individual career path. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.Requirements:
Bachelors' Degree in education or career and technology education, or 4 years directly related experience. Have positive work skills and ability to relate to high school and adult students CTE education certification, secondary education certification in core subject area or workforce development credential Handle confidential information Assess skills and develop and deliver individualized academic or employment plans Knowledge of professional employability skills 3 years of relevant experienceAbout the Choctaw Nation
