The Department of Medical Education at the Dell Medical School is looking for an Academic Program Coordinator, Longitudinal-IPE/Leadership/Enrichment Electives.

This position is hybrid eligible. After the first 90 days in person the employee may request hybrid work one day a week remotely. As a student facing position, the position requires in person interaction for course support, training and other department, division and student activities.  


Purpose
This position will facilitate program administration of the educational mission by administering the Longitudinal Courses including Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Leadership (LP) as well as the Enrichment Electives of the Dell Medical School curriculum, manage the daily operations of the courses and support leadership to finalize program structure and general curriculum operations.  

Responsibilities

Primary student contact for the year round/four-year longitudinal courses. Collaborate with course director(s)/faculty/staff in identifying areas of need in the curriculum process. Manage planning committee meetings to review operations and implement any further action needed. Discuss with the department leadership on decisions affecting inter-departmental relationships. Plan and implement new initiatives and changes.  Monitor program to ensure standards and policies are appropriately implemented. 

Manage the Learning Management System (Canvas), course syllabi, support documents and exams. Use and maintain databases for grading and evaluation. Collect and maintain document for academic files. Identify, recommend, and implement process changes and tools to improve course delivery.  

Coordinate with other campus departments, clinical partners and vendors to effectively execute courses and events, including reserving rooms, securing audiovisual support, acquiring supplies/resources, creating invitations and publicity materials.  Execute day-of-event activities prioritizing activities and leading support team.

Serve and assist students and faculty as a resource and point of contact for questions, concerns or complaints, technical assistance using good judgment and University policies as appropriate to respond to issues identified by students. 

Participate in cross-functional teams, committees, and activities designed to establish an organizational culture that supports learning, collaboration, and work towards consistency of the student experience across all programs, sharing best practices and brainstorming new and innovative ideas.​

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience coordinating or administering a program. Ability to multi-task, be extremely organized and detail oriented, self-motivated, with communication skills that allow high-level interactions with a broad academic and medical community. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and web-based programs. Must be student-focused and student-friendly. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be innovative, skilled at anticipating shifting trends, a self-starter, highly collaborative, able to work well under changing environments, responds well to feedback, works well as part of a team, skilled at dealing with both internal and external customers, effective at prioritizing tasks and initiatives, and learns quickly. Experience using curriculum management systems or learning management systems.

Salary Range
$46,000 - $51,500
