**POSITION DETAILS**
York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. York’s academic programs are housed in three schools: The School of Arts & Sciences, The School of Business and Information Systems, and The School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs. Over sixty baccalaureate programs from across a variety of disciplines, including accounting, aviation management, business, computer science, journalism, social work, teacher education, a dual BS/MS degree in Occupational Therapy, and one of the top-ranked nursing programs in New York State, provide students with opportunities to study liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs. The College also offers six graduate programs: Aviation Management, Clinical Trials Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Business, Physician Assistant, Social Work and Nursing Education.
Located in Queens, the most ethnically diverse county in New York State, the College enrolls 7,000 students from over 95 nations. Nine out of ten students are members of a racial/ethnic minority group, and more than half of undergraduates are the first in their families to pursue higher education.
The College’s 50-acre campus encompasses seven buildings, including science and computer labs, music and television studios, a Performing Arts Center, and a Health and Physical Education Center. The College recently completed seven major construction projects, with more scheduled for the future. In addition, its neighborhood is at the center of a renaissance fueled by economic revitalization.

The Director manages the operations of all ACE (Accelerate-Complete-Engage) program activities and represents the program within and outside the College. ACE is a comprehensive program designed to help students complete their academic journey to the Bachelor’s degree within four years by providing participants with a clearly mapped program of study and comprehensive academic advisement and career support services. The ACE Director reports to the Provost or senior level OAA designee.
+ Develops and implements programming to meet the Program’s mission, collaborating with other College units, participating CUNY ACE/ASAP colleges, and CUNY’s Central ASAP Office
+ Administers a comprehensive portfolio of services, providing a highly supportive environment by overseeing ACE advisors, career specialists, and support staff, and by developing relevant programs, workshops, and activities to improve student success
+ Manages staff and budget consistent with program goals and guidelines
+ Develops and monitors a comprehensive program of academic advisement, career counseling, and other support and financial aid services for a designated cohort of ACE students;
+ Develops and implements strategies to improve retention and performance of ACE students in collaboration with ACE advisors and career specialists;
+ Prepares reports for the college leadership, CUNY Central Office of Academic Affairs, and ASAP Central Office;
+ Attends monthly meetings at the CUNY Central and other periodic program-wide events; and
+ Evaluates program services and develops interventions for probation and at-risk students; makes recommendations to improve program offerings;
+ Establishes and maintains relationships with academic departments, including scheduling of ACE classes;
+ Oversees recruitment of new students, including coordination with other college offices;
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required.
PREFERRED QualificationS
+ Demonstrated management and supervisory skills as well as budget oversight and planning experience
+ Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing students from diverse urban backgrounds
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, within the department and with faculty and other administrators
+ Strong organization, project management, communication, and facilitation skills
+ Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of student activities
+ Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Access and Excel); and aptitude to learn new systems as needed
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Directs a comprehensive student support program.
- Develops, recommends, and implements program goals and objectives to meet students' specialized needs and develops a range of responsive programs
- Oversees the integration of diverse services with internal and external partners to meet a broad range of student needs
- Collaborates with academic and student support departments to ensure students are utilizing available services and programming; collaborates with counselors, mentors, and others assisting students
- Collects data for, analyzes, and reports on activities and outcomes, recommending program improvements; writes proposals and reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Directs all service operations, facilities, and staff
- Performs related duties as assigned.

$96,602 - $107,789 - Salary commensurate with education and experience.
