Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Temple is seeking PRN, Academic Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons to join the Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery, within the Department of Surgery at our flagship hospital in Temple, TX. We are in the process of growing our Acute Care Surgery service team to continue providing the highest level of specialty care available to the region. This will be a PRN position.
\nCandidates must be BC/BE in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
\nPosition Information
\n\nPrivileges at our American College of Surgeons verified & state designated Level I Trauma facility in Temple, TX with more than 3000 trauma registry patients per year.\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nClinical\n\nEvaluation of all trauma and emergency general surgery consults\nRounding for the STICU and Trauma Acute Care Surgery Services\nOR coverage for Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Elective General Surgery\n\nAcademic\n\nResident and medical student lectures for all aspects of Acute Care Surgery\nMentorship for residents, medical students and APP students.\nInstructors for ATLS, ATOM, ASSET\nResearch and PI projects for the three pillars of Acute Care Surgery\n\nMission\n\nRegional outreach and commitment to trauma and emergency surgical services\nInvolvement in both TQIP and NSQIP\nLeadership opportunities available early\n\n\n24 hour, 365 days / year Dedicated OR Suite for Trauma & Acute Care Surgery \nEstablished Surgical & Trauma Intensive Care Unit\nExperience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery required\nAcademic affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine \nLarge general surgery residency program with resident coverage at all times.\nGeriatric Trauma Service with full complement of APPs\nIn house trauma call is expected with dedicated call rooms available \n\nQualifications:
\n\nMD/DO degree \nFellowship training in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery \nBoard Certification by the American Board of Surgery or Osteopathic Board Certification \nTexas Medical License \nFellow of the American College of Surgeons when qualified \nATLS \nExperience with the surgical care of trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care patients\n\n\n
