Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The Child Care Education Program is operated by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), in the School of Health and Human Sciences at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. HDFS is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service regarding human development and close relationships across the lifespan. Our objectives are to educate the next generation of HDFS professionals and scholars, to generate new knowledge, and to foster the well-being of individuals and families in their everyday lives. The Child Care Education Program provides a setting where university students can gain experiential and hands-on learning, as well as have opportunities to apply content knowledge from their courses. Students are provided the opportunity to complete full-time student teaching, participate in weekly practicum placements, complete one-time observations for class assignments, and find part-time employment through work/study programs. Position Summary The ACCESS Family Coordinator performs responsible, direct service work with ACCESS families and works with university and community partners to recruit, determine eligibility, enroll, and support student-parents through 1-1 case management. They will also deliver Triple P Parenting seminars and discussion groups to all CCEP families, and classroom support to ACCESS children when needed. They will work with the grant PIs to evaluate the support services offered and to implement and continue to develop family supports. Minimum Qualifications
BACHELOR’S DEGREE AND ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Must pass a physical examination, TB test and criminal background check for child care Graduation from a regionally or CHEA-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field Experience working with families who have limited resources, and early childhood children An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Early Childhood classroom experience Alternate Option If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training & experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants.
