Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities
Function as Access Programs Lead, reporting to the Business Security Director.Perform duties similar to a Personnel Security Specialist ensuring individuals are trustworthy and reliable for access to special programs.Responsible for managing personnel access for security-related programs; including procedures, audits, inspections, and other associated tasks. Fulfill the security responsibilities required per NRC Special Nuclear Materials license.Act as the provisional or secondary Security Advisor (role required by Nuclear Regulatory Commission or NRC) for the Emergency Organization, an interdisciplinary team responsible for managing the company’s response to emergency incidents.Coordinate oversight of site guard force processes and procedures with the Site Security Leader, including periodic administrative review of supporting documents. Recommend correction actions to Business Security Director and Site Security Leader as applicable.Interface with State and Federal regulators during inspections.Serve as provisional oversight of security-related special projects, such as acquisitions, facility upgrades, etc. Responsible for simultaneous coordination with multiple, disparate agencies. Capable of independent/rational analysis, and decisive action when necessary.Required Qualifications
BS or MS degree in Criminal Justice or similar field and experience in Nuclear and/or Industrial Security Program. -OR-Minimum of 5 years of experience in Nuclear, DoD, or Industrial Security Program.Eligibility Requirements:
Eligible for an NRC L Security Clearance.Ability to respond to the site within 90 minutes.Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the United States.Desired Characteristics
Law Enforcement or Military/DoD background.NRC 10 CFR 73.57 experience/familiarity.NRC 10 CFR 37.27 experience/familiarity.Work experience in Nuclear Security.Personnel Security (PERSEC) experience.Knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS).Ability to develop creative solutions for complex, challenging issues.Ability to explain complex issues to a non-technical audience.Ability to prioritize tasks and function independent of constant oversight.Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.Established project management skills/experience.Confidence and ability to respectfully and professionally challenge conventional norms.Excellent administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Proven ability to be a team player.
