Work Location Springfield Campus Department Disability Resource Center Hiring Range 12.50 Department/Employer Operating Hours 8-5 Monday Through Friday How many hours per week are required? 10-20 Description of Primary Duties A student employee at the Access Technology Center (ATC) will be expected to provide assistance and be a resource for students with disabilities. Their primary duties include converting textbooks into alternative formats by scanning and converting them to a student’s required format based on their disability. They may also provide basic technical support, take phone calls and messages, as well as perform other tasks as assigned. Additionally, they may assist in training and supporting students in the use of assistive technologies. Required Qualifications Possesses a working knowledge of basic computer programs such as Word, Outlook, and Win 11. Willingness to learn assistive technologies and specialized software as required. Be detail-oriented. Must possess strong fluency in English and can proofread written English at a college level. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player. Must be punctual and dependable. Summer availability is preferred but not required. A strong desire to help fellow students succeed. Eagerness to ask questions and comfortable learning from mistakes. Given the technical nature of this position and the training required to perform ATC responsibilities effectively, accurately, and efficiently, undergraduate students with three or more years of education remaining at MSU are preferred and are encouraged to apply.
