Working within the Disability Resource Center, the Accessible Materials Coordinator (Instructional Designer I) oversees the remediation and creation of accessible materials (books, documents, PDF’s, PowerPoints, online content, etc.) for students with print disabilities. They also work with Digital Accessibility Services to create, maintain, and carry out processes focused on university-wide digital accessibility. This position will also manage a team of employees, providing leadership, mentorship, and support for project management.

Responsibilities Create, maintain, and carry out digital accessibility processesManage a team of staff, including setting goals, delegating tasks, and providing ongoing training and supportMeet with university faculty and staff to consult on accessible materials and to provide accessibility trainingDevelop training materials for students, faculty, and staff on accessible materialsUpdate website content with information regarding accessible materialsMaintain and update a database used to manage the process of creating accessible booksMeet with students who use accessible materials to understand their individual needsTrain students on the use of accessible materials and assistive technology used for access Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; or an associate degree and 2 years of experience developing and editing multimedia materials, preferably for education; or an equivalent of education plus experience is required.Evidence of good communication skills, both verbal and writtenEvidence of strong organization and customer service skillsFoundation of knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG, Section 508, ADA)Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Experience with digital accessibility tools like screen readers, accessibility checkers, and captioning software.Experience supervising employeesFamiliarity with web development or multimedia software and knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ARIA.Familiarity with the Canvas Learning Management System in a professional capacity
