Job Title: Accessioner Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accessioner to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate and timely handling of samples, and providing support to various areas of the laboratory. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our laboratory operations. Responsibilities + Receive and process laboratory specimens for analysis + Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems + Send test requests to the proper location and release test results + Assist clients with any specimen-related requests or inquiries + Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities + Provide support to various areas of the laboratory + Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieving + Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner + Maintain a clean and safe work environment Essential Skills + Sample preparation + Specimen handling + Data entry + Accessioning + Specimen processing Additional Skills & Qualifications + Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent + Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred + Comfortability with handling biological specimens + Ability to accurately identify specimens + Basic computer and data entry skills + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal + Ability to work independently or within a team environment + Well-organized with a high level of attention to detail + Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time Work Environment This is a lab-based environment where candidates will work mostly on their own in sectioned-off areas. The department has 80 total employees. There is no patient contact.
