Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accessioner to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing and managing laboratory specimens, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and comfortability with handling biological specimens.

ResponsibilitiesAccurately process laboratory specimens for analysisResearch, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problemsSend test requests to the proper location and release test resultsAssist clients with any specimen-related requests or inquiriesProcess specimens to be sent out to additional facilitiesProvide support to various areas of the laboratoryPerform sample sorting, racking, and retrievingPrepare record logs in a timely and efficient mannerMaintain a clean and safe work environmentEssential SkillsSample preparationSpecimen handlingData entryAccessioningSpecimen processingAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience in a laboratory environment is preferredComfortability with handling biological specimensAbility to accurately identify specimensBasic computer and data entry skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently or within a team environmentWell organized with a high level of attention to detailAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periods of timeWork Environment

This is a lab-based environment. Candidates will work mostly on their own in sectioned-off areas. The department comprises 80 total employees. There is no patient contact. The role involves processing lab samples in a production-based environment. Contractors will NOT be handling blood.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $18.00
