Centers Laboratory of New Jersey is currently seeking Processors to work weekends for our Laboratory located in Cedar Knolls, NJ. The ideal candidate will be a certified phlebotomist and have excellent interpersonal skills!
Position Title: Processor / Accessioner
Reports to: Processing Supervisor
Position Summary:
The laboratory processor is responsible for specimen procurement, which includes sorting, accessioning and processing. In addition, he/she performs all other duties as assigned.

The responsibilities of a Processor include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Organize, sort, accession and process patient samples for in-house testing and for reference laboratoriesResponsible for barcoding and verifying all documentationPerform manual entry of requisitions in the lab information system accurately in a timely mannerValidate and match information for specimens received; patient demographics, tests requested and billing informationResponsible for verifying and reporting any inconsistencies in accessioning, data entry, specimen identification, and sample type to supervisorProcess and verify send-out specimens before they are submitted to the reference laboratory.Responsible for printing end of night report to verify that all specimens that were received in the lab were released into the lab information systemPerform a thorough review of the processing area at the end of each shift to make sure all specimens are processedPrepare a report for customer service regarding any issues per shiftFamiliar with tube types, test request and medical terminologyAssist in the discarding of specimens into biohazard containersPerform clerical and administrative duties as neededDemonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situationsPerform all responsibilities independently with no direct supervision requiredPerform all other duties as assignedCompetencies:
