Responsibilities
· Manage the engineering introduction of new interior trim accessories from concept into production.
· Create cutting edge parts for interior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency
· Work interactively within a cross functional studio, marketing and vehicle engineering teams, understanding the business case of each particular project
· Develop and implement benchmarking and testing plans and activities to deliver a continued improvement in product.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in vehicle interior trim accessories or SVO (special vehicle operations) design & development. This includes design related experience with at least some of the following areas:
· Interior ornamentation
· Brightware
· Mechanisms
· Soft goods
· Previous experience and background in solving complex technical issues and challenges.
· Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6
· Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting)
· High and Low Volume Production methods.
· Launch experience.
Advantageous
· Direct hands-on interior trim accessories or SVO experience
· Developing test plan and schedule for new products
· A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
· Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills.
· A great work ethic
Education
· Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
