Job Summary
The Accommodation Coordinator position is a full-time position in the Office of Disability Resources (ODR). The Accommodation Coordinator assists the Associate Director in interpreting medical documentation, and providing support for students seeking medical exemptions and accommodations.
Essential Functions
Reviews documentation and approves reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Meets with students who have disabilities to discuss the impact of their condition on their ability to fully participate in the educational experience at Drexel in order to determine reasonable accommodations. Communicates with students, parents, and campus partners to establish or maintain reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Makes appropriate referrals and proposes additional support to students with disabilities. Assists with ODR outreach and open house events, as needed. Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Disability Resources, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.) Minimum of 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to problem solve with colleagues and assist individual faculty and staff in the provision of accommodations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and records.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Disability Resources, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Psychology or a related field. Experience working with students with disabilities in a higher education setting. Working knowledge of Section 504 and the ADAAA, as it applies to postsecondary education.Location

This position is classified as Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 - $61,680 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
