Accommodations Maintenance- Starting at $15.50 per hour

JOB PURPOSE: Ensure guest satisfaction through a properly maintained property, guest room, and by responding promptly and efficiently to guest complaints and concerns. Know all fire and safety rules, regulations and policies.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensure guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction by promptly and effectively maintaining guest rooms, cabins, hallways and back of house areas along with assisting the housekeeping and grounds staff with the overall appearance of the hotel and campground public space, daily laundry operation, and daily maintenance functions when necessary. Ensure integrity of all guest areas by daily inspections and reporting.  Exhibit excellent guest service skills by demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the park including features, locations of attractions and rides, costs and other general knowledge including the general Darien Center/ Buffalo area. Maintain, repair and troubleshoot all manageable mechanical operations and equipment including, the following areas: Electrical switches, lamps/ballasts, electrical receptacles, etc. Plumbing- fixtures repair and replacement, pvc/cu pipe, drain clearing and repair, water heater, etc. Carpentry- drywall, wallpaper, painting, caulking, tile repair and replacement windows, doors, locks (VING), furniture repair, etc. HVAC-service of PTACs and RTU’s, exhaust units, ice machines etc. Mechanical-equipment maintenance (washer, dryer, vacuum cleaners, plaza gates etc.) General upkeep of areas around the hotel including pool deck, parking lot, etc. Other general repairs as necessary Possess a good mechanical knowledge of how to safely operate and maintain all tools. Respond to and complete all work orders in a timely manner, closing out as completed. Maintain and fully understand VING Card System. Understand and be able to efficiently use the Springer Miller WorkOrder System. Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule. Keep all work areas, shops and guest rooms neat and orderly. Maintain proper inventory levels. Perform daily Building/Room Audits. Check all exterior lighting, public area lighting, and signage daily. This includes:  parking lot lights, high rises, entrance signs, walking lights, corridor, lobby and elevator. Be punctual in reporting to work in the proper uniform with a name tag.  Personal hygiene is required daily. Help maintain the overall appearance of the hotel’s public space, pool, hallways, and parking lot to help maintain a safe environment.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred minimum of 2 years maintenance/engineering experience in a hotel or related field. Minimum age 18 NYS Driver’s License Organization and time management skills. Communication skills. Computer skills Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Must be able to use a radio and other communication systems.  Ability to work safely and confidently.    Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.   Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own activities. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
