This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and has the flexibility to telecommute, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion. The position processes, audits, and reconciles all payroll operations/transactions for MnDOT’s Central Office. The position also processes employee business expenses, audits, and reconciliations in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling payroll labor distributions and researching, calculating, coding, tracking, and processing various transactions for human resources and payroll. ** The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment. **Minimum Qualifications** · Basic accounting sufficient to identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records. · Knowledge of math sufficient to maintain complete and accurate financial records and balance and resolve discrepancies in areas like determining eligibility, level of benefits and/or payroll. · Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data. · Skill in using advanced spreadsheets features such as formula creation to manipulate and sort data. · Knowledge of communications sufficient to explain the reasons for transactions and procedures, rules, and regulations so that others understand the information they are being given. · Ability to manage and address customer’s, clients, and co-workers’ concerns tactfully and thoroughly. **Additional Requirements** **Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check** It is our policy that all candidates submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
