This position exists to provide accounting work in the business office for the six campuses of Minnesota North College. The accounting work includes, but is not limited to accounts payable, credit/purchasing cards, employee business expense reimbursements, and fixed asset management. The accounting functions are under limited supervision; provide technical advice and services; and interpret rules and federal, state, system and local policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to analyze and problem solve complex situations. **Minimum Qualifications** + Knowledge of math accounting practices and bookkeeping sufficient to calculate information used in reconciling data and balancing accounts. + Perform data entry skills sufficient to enter data accurately and efficiently. + Effectively communicate (verbal and written) appropriately with students, faculty/staff and other customers. + Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone and through email and other written correspondence. + Skill in using spreadsheet software applications (such as Microsoft Excel) to compile, store and retrieve data in a variety of reports. + Skill to manage sufficiently large volume of work while maintaining accuracy and paying attention to detail. + Ability to analyze, interpret and prepare financial information, records and reports: locate errors and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems. + Commitment to diversity as well as a demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds including sensitivity to their needs and concerns. **Preferred Qualifications** + Three (3) or more years’ experience in accounting or finance. + Experience with SEMA4, SWIFT, ISRS and Workday information systems. + Basic accounting procedures sufficient to complete forms, documents and reconciliation reports that comply with GAAP standards and maintain accurate and complete financial records. **Additional Requirements** In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
