Are you an experienced and strategic account handler with a passion for building client relationships and delivering outstanding scientific and patient communications? IQVIA™ Medical Communications is seeking an Account Director, specializing in medical affairs and patient communications. You will have a key role in leading client accounts, developing strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of projects whilst driving business growth.

About the Account Director role

Collaborating with the inquisitive and imaginative minds within the division, the Account Director will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, working across a wide range of offerings within the IQVIA Medical Communications business, managing high quality project delivery along with new business and account growth.

This role is open to either UK home based or UK hybrid working. Some travel into the offices (Reading and London) is expected as required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead client accounts, fostering strong and enduring relationships to maximize revenue and profitabilityUnderstand client objectives and provide strategic guidance throughout the entire campaign/project lifecycleFacilitate effective discussions with stakeholdersDrive creative and strategic excellence, pushing clients and the agency towards optimal performanceDrive delivery of projects, responsible for quality deliverables, budget and time managementProactively engage with clients to develop annual strategies and identify opportunities for account growthConduct regular client health checks, skilfully managing challenging situations with professionalismProactive practice of cross-sell strategy for relevant new products and programmesProactive practice of up-selling existing products, supporting growth across multiple accountsMaintain a deep understanding of the relevant therapeutic landscape pertaining to client accountsIdentify, develop, and convert new business opportunities with existing and potential clientsSupport leadership in new business pitches and support the development of proposals and strategic growthDrives innovative thinking, and leads brainstorming sessions to develop tailored offerings for clientsWorking with project management teams to ensure profitability and growth through accurate budgeting, efficient project timeline monitoring, and resource allocationEnsure compliance with relevant codes of practice, legislation, and industry standardsManage the performance and professional development of team members, senior review of key account deliverablesTravel to client meetings as required

Requirements

Over 5years of experience in the healthcare/pharma industry, including senior account manager or account director agency experienceStrong track record of managing client accounts and delivering successful projects within a medical communication settingProven track record in medical communications, encompassing experience in various type of aspects, such as integrated medical planning, content delivery, patient solutions, scientific communication platform, scientific narratives, symposia, webinars, publications management, content development in a variety of formatsExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsStrong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracyExcellent collaborative abilities, working effectively within a team and independentlyCuriosity about our business, the industry, and current eventsSolid understanding of the industry landscapeCapability to handle multiple projects concurrently and demonstrate strong time managementStrong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and forecastingProactive problem-solving skills and an eagerness to seek out informationAdherence to deadlines and the ability to anticipate and address potential challengesAbility to manage multiple stakeholders effectively across different organizational levelsDemonstrated a proactive, results-oriented mindsetSelf-motivation and effective organizational skills
