**Overview**
**Position: Account Director-Remote**
The **Account Director** (remote) is responsible for overseeing the advocacy account team, including the direct management and mentoring of the advocacy account team, as well as contributing to brainstorming and initiation of new advocacy program development. This individual is responsible for managing and growing client relationships, and expanding services/business, on one or more client accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of maintaining ultimate accountability for client satisfaction, increasing account revenue and overall growth, and will bring experience as a team leader. The responsibilities of the Account Director are as follows:

**Client Focus**
+ May own the client relationships at the mid-senior level within clients’ organizational hierarchy/ies
+ With SVP, responsible for setting and managing client account expectations
+ Oversee strategy development for assigned account(s), including the development of key alliances and advocacy strategies that align with clients’ brands and support the client's business objectives
+ Maintain primary responsibility for the quality, strategy, and integrity of all assigned agency products/services delivered to assigned clients, resulting in the cultivation of client loyalty and retention and organic growth
+ Engage clients regularly to evaluate the success or failure of advocacy projects and initiatives, and plan for course correction and/or continual success as appropriate
+ Identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts currently managed and present/position new ideas to clients continuously. Seek opportunities to upsell and cross-sell within the account to generate additional revenue
+ Manage profit and loss responsibility for assigned clients, as well as financial forecasting
+ Demonstrate significant knowledge of pharmaceutical, healthcare, and advocacy landscapes and is comfortable playing a leadership role with client advocacy teams
**Internal Focus**
+ Develop metrics and rationale for each account plan; provide ongoing consultation regarding advocacy strategy; and develop fees and budget allocation models for agency services
+ May be asked to participate in new business
+ With project manager, contribute to the development of the project timeline and budget
+ Hire, train, and establish individualized career development plans, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct performance evaluations with direct reports
+ Ensure clear, ongoing communication regarding client and brand strategies, strategic insights pertaining to the client’s business/industry, trends, initiatives, issues, and competitive intelligence, or similar to multidisciplinary team members. Inspire the team to consistently deliver superior client solutions that meet or exceed clients’ goals/expectations
+ Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of client organizations, advocacy stakeholders, products, and disease states
**Other Requirements**
+ Management experience in one or more of the following settings: bio-pharmaceutical industry, advocacy/community organization, biotech, medical communications company, or healthcare agency
+ Demonstrate ability to lead a team in a highly collaborative environment to develop and advocacy strategies for clients in the healthcare space
+ A strong, strategic customer service orientation, and the ability to form long-term relationships with mid-senior level partners within client organizations
+ Ability to motivate and lead others in the development, direction, and execution of advocacy initiatives
+ Demonstrate budget management experience for client projects, including prior experience developing fees and budget allocation models
+ Strong strategic, analytical skills and effective problem-solving skills. Must also be able to exercise positive judgment to assess situations, evaluate options, make decisions, and draw conclusions
**Qualifications**
+ 7 - 10+ years of relevant professional experience
+ A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in science or business is a plus
+ A minimum of one (1) year of prior staff management, development, and mentoring experience preferred
+ 3+ years in healthcare communications, healthcare agency, or bio-pharma advocacy preferred
+ A demonstrated track record of expanding business with existing clients (upselling); and experience supporting new business pitches required
+ Advocacy, non-profit, public health, and policy experience is a plus

Compensation Range: $95,950 - $150,995 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
