Primary Role
The primary goal of this position is to work closely with the Producer to manage the retention, servicing and new sales efforts for a book of business.
Job Functions:
Independently manage work flow for the client life-cycleAnalysis and marketing of employee benefits programs (especially individual and aggregate stop-loss insurance)Assist in the development of sales and renewal strategiesPreparation of renewal and new business proposals, presentation materials and supporting documents as necessary (benefit and financial analysis)Provide claims, eligibility, billing and plan administration advocacy and resolutionCarrier and Vendor contract review, analysis and negotiationsMaintain effective working relationships with Carriers and VendorsMaintain broad knowledge base of Carrier and Vendor products and underwriting requirementsExperience and claims report preparation & analysis – oversight provided by UnderwritingDelegation of specific tasks to Account Assistant/Administrative Assistant, if applicableProvide Peer-Review for other team membersMaintain respectful relationshipsAssist in the training and development of other team membersParticipate in the development and execution of company initiativesOther duties as required by clients, business needs or assigned by managementKnowledge and Skills:
Extensive working knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issuesExperience managing alternative funding arrangements, self-insured benefit plans, Taft-Hartley Trust, Tribal or other specialized business expertiseExcellent communication, presentation and writing skills requiredExceptional abstract reasoning and analytical abilitiesDemonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situationsSkilled at balancing tight timelines and competing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused positive attitudeExpertise in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Word, Excel & PowerPointProject Management experience a plusExperience managing confidential information (HIPAA)Pleasant ‘can-do’ customer service attitudeHigh level of personal initiative, integrity and professional ethicsAbility to work respectfully with diverse populations both internally and externallyCommitment to on-going professional continuing educationExperience and Education
College Degree, or equivalent job experienceMinimum 5 years’ experience working with Employee Benefits Programs in a brokerage or equivalent settingApplicable state life and health license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)Maintain professional designation(s) (RHU, REBC, CEBS, etc.)Other Requirements:
Day and overnight travel may be requiredDependable personal transportationAbility to work over-time as requiredValid/Current driver’s license and proof of insuranceDisclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
