Our GFL team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Key Account Manager to join us in Edson, Alberta! As an Account Manager, you will play a critical role in promoting and selling our solid waste services, helping us achieve our growth objectives and maintain our competitive edge in the market.

A “Day in the Life" of an Account Manager:

Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers by traveling throughout the assigned territory, penetrate markets, and manage leads to increase sales and market share within the assigned territory.      

Demonstrate proficiency in sales presentations, emphasize product features, and stay informed on competitor activities and industry trends.

Develop expertise in solid waste product pricing, costs, sales contracts, and profit/loss dynamics; manage quotes, credit terms, and consult with managers on deviations.

Manage large customers, participate in bids, identify acquisition opportunities, and assist with price increases and waste stream analysis.

Ensure compliance with laws and company policies, attend industry functions for company exposure, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

2 -3 years of sales experience with comprehensive knowledge of sales techniques with ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and be able to apply concepts of basic geometry & algebra.

Good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, read maps, and adapt to change.

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with the ability to read maps.

Nice to have knowledge or experience in solid waste industry.

Must hold a valid Driver's license.
