Account Manager- Detroit

Position Purpose:

The Account Manager is responsible for growing and scaling revenue for an assigned portfolio of existing Pro account relationships. The Account Manager utilizes reporting and customer satisfaction results to discover incremental Pro sales growth opportunities within an assigned region. The Account Manager should act as a strategic partner to Pro customers and have the ability to enhance existing relationships and collaborate with both internal and external parties by demonstrating excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

10% - Cross-Functional Collaboration - Participate in district/regional meetings as needed. Utilize local community events to continuously represent The Home Depot Pro and sustain visibility in the market. Communicate weekly activities with Pro Sales Manager.10% - Customer Relationship Management - Utilize Salesforce to plan future sales call activity, manage ongoing customer communications, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.80% - Existing Sales Relationships - Sell all products and services available from the enterprise, including Commercial Credit options, Volume Pricing Program, delivery, will call pickup, and website ordering. Review pertinent Pro customer satisfaction results to understand customers' perspectives and use the information to drive local decisions and strategies to improve competitive position. Partner with Pro Account Expeditor as a daily point of contact to drive an end-to-end quoting, ordering, and transaction experience for your Pro customers. Maintain a strong working partnership with your portfolio by maintaining current business with excellent customer service while driving profitability to achieve long term success. Utilize historical spend trends and captured customer information to retain customer’s share of wallet.

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
 

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Working Conditions:

Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of professional work experience2 years account management/sales management experience2 plus years home improvement or home building industry experienceSuccessful professional growth in a high paced retail environmentComputer literacy with Microsoft Office programsAbility to leverage relationships to accomplish sales and profitability goalsDeep understanding of Pro customer needs with a focus on fulfilling 100% of their product, credit, and performance requirementsDetermine how each customer would prefer to be served and tailor communications and customer-facing activities appropriatelyStrong ability to collaborate in a team environmentAbility to navigate data and leverage reporting to make decisionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and follow-through
