ICF is seeking an Energy Efficiency Account Manager to support the RISE (Rebuilding Incentives for Sustainable Electric) Homes program in California. This strategic initiative sits at the nexus of residential electrification and disaster management, supporting communities affected by natural disasters as they navigate reconstruction into new decarbonized homes.  You’ll focus on developing and nurturing relationships with building industry trade allies, residential builders, developers, raters, homebuilder associations, and local energy code departments. Working closely with our program implementation team, you will be the lead for developing the outreach strategy for engaging with the key stakeholders mentioned above to facilitate the success of the RISE Homes program. 

This role will be a mix of home office and field-based work, giving you independence and flexibility that allows you to experience something new every day! You’ll work closely with key stakeholders, partners, and our ICF team members to provide outreach, recruitment and technical support, identify actionable solutions, and drive continuous improvement and best practices in energy efficient, all-electric new construction.  This role will develop and expand partnerships with trade allies, residential builders, developers, raters, homebuilder associations, and local energy code departments.

What you will be doing: 

Perform trade ally outreach and recruitment across California by presenting program offerings and distributing program marketing material to raise program awareness across multiple strategic trade ally locations including homebuilder associations, building departments, permit offices, and more. 

Provide program-specific guidance to assist homeowners, builders, developers, architects, contractors and other trade allies in navigating the RISE Homes program. Must be able to effectively communicate to both technical trade allies and non-technical audiences. 

Collaborate with key stakeholders and trade allies such as HERS Raters, Homebuilders and Developers to gather forecasting updates on participating projects ensuring that the evaluation, implementation and verification of utility sponsored energy efficiency projects are successfully executed. 

Attend events to build and maintain relationships with key market actors in the home construction and rehabilitation industry including architects, engineers, contractors, energy raters, consultants, home inspectors, public officials, public interest groups, and customers. 

Interact with HERS raters, builders, and developers regarding energy efficiency best practices, building science fundamentals and recommend energy efficiency improvements.  

Conduct strategic field-based site visits and Quality Assurance/Quality Control visual inspections of projects under construction including HVAC and water heating equipment.  

Regularly review program QC findings. Based on the findings, leverage best practices and continuous improvement to implement long term solutions in partnership with the client and ICF team.   

Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 40% to 70% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided) 

  

What we need you to have (Minimum Qualifications): 

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related energy efficiency experience or relevant experience in the residential construction industry.  

A high school diploma with 6+ years of related energy efficiency experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree  

Must be able to pass an MVR and background check.   

  

What we would like you to have (Preferred Skills): 

Expertise in residential construction sectors such as single family, multifamily and manufactured housing. 

Expertise in business management, building construction, energy resources, or energy policy.  

Expertise with the California energy codes, specifically Title 24. 

Industry certifications including, but not limited to:   

RESNET-certified HERS Rater  

Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager or Energy Auditor  

Certified Passive House Consultant 

Professional affiliations including, but not limited to: BPI, RESNET, AESP, ACEEE, ASHRAE, or AEE.  

  

Professional Skills:  

Knowledge of residential energy-efficient building applications, renewable technologies, or high-performance construction practices and technologies 

Demonstrated ability to provide project leadership and meet client goals.  

Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.  

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.  

Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  

Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.  

Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.  

Detail-oriented mindset to fine tune and improve processes.  

Ability to be flexible and handle multiple priorities.  

Experience working as part of a cross functional team.  

Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and SharePoint).

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$65,820.00 - $111,894.00
