Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $69,500.00 - $82,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

As a Commercial Card Payments Account Manager, you will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of mid-large sized commercial card accounts for our East Coast based portfolio. The selected candidate will be a highly motivated strategic planner with a sharp focus on growth, retention, and profitability, while maintaining our high standard of client satisfaction.

Essential Functions

Optimize, grow, and retain a portfolio of assigned accounts

Work with clients to ensure a consistent high level of satisfaction with our products and services

Collaborate internally with our support teams to meet client business objectives, resolve issues, and ensure timely follow up

Coordinate with product partners across multiple business lines to execute on business plans and introduce products and services to achieve client goals and objectives

Plan and execute contract renewal process with all applicable legal documents to include developing pricing offers, obtained credit approvals, and any new payment products or services

Facilitate quarterly and annual client business reviews to highlight program success and opportunities for program expansion

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Strong knowledge of account management, operations, business development, and/or sales for medium to large size commercial card clients; including knowledge of best practices

Working knowledge of card related product and services, with a strong background in e-payables

Strong relationship building and presentation skills

Ability to work effectively across business lines, including c-suite executives

Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements

Ability to travel approximately 25%-30%

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

4+ years commercial card, merchant services, or payments industry experience in account management, sales, operations, required or support required

3+ years e-payables account management, business development, sales, or support experience preferred

Contract negotiation experience preferred

Salesforce and/or Workday experience preferred

*Role will be remote located in Central or Eastern United States. Preference is for candidates living in the states of New York, or Pennsylvania, but will consider other locations in Central US*

At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $69,500 to $82,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
