Overview Account Manager UK Remote Aptean is seeking an exceptional Account Manager to join our UK team, specialising in the Wholesale and Distribution sector, with a focus on Merlin Business Software. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned clients, with a primary emphasis on maintaining and increasing renewal rates. Building and nurturing strong client relationships will be central to your success. You will aim to retain existing customers while proactively identifying opportunities to drive additional revenue through the sale of new products, licenses, or upsell modules. Duties & Responsibilities Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers and decision-makers within customer accounts to foster loyalty and high retention rates. Revenue Growth: Identify opportunities to upsell and close deals for additional Aptean products, add-on licenses, upsell modules, and next-version upgrades for existing customers. New Business Development: Identify and manage opportunistic new business scenarios to expand revenue streams. Customer Understanding: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each customer’s business goals, current projects, and issues. Strategic Account Management: Optimize account portfolios, prioritize accounts, and develop strategic account plans, quotes, and forecasts. Quota Management: Manage revenue and bookings quotas while participating in frequent forecast reviews for the assigned territory. Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely updates of opportunity, customer, and contact data. Internal Collaboration: Facilitate effective internal communication, including managing cross-functional transitions, escalations, and contracts, by involving the appropriate Aptean team members to deliver added value to accounts. Industry Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, business developments, and Aptean products to better serve customer accounts. Customer Engagement: Coordinate and facilitate technical presentations and participate in customer and marketing events to showcase value. Product Strategy: Use insights into customer needs and industry trends to provide input into Aptean’s product strategy. Account Penetration: Sell new or additional products or services to existing buyers. Identify and engage additional buyers within current customer locations. Expand sales to additional customer locations. Drive revenue growth through cloud services, value-added services, and subscription models. Develop group-level agreements aligned with customer business goals. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience: 3–5 years of experience as an account manager, preferably with ERP, WMS, or business solutions. Mandatory software sales experience. Experience working with and understanding contracts is advantageous. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to credibly present recommendations to senior leaders. Excellent sales, negotiation, and objection-handling skills. Work Ethic: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal direction. Proven ability to collaborate effectively across geographically diverse teams. Professionalism: High degree of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and follow-up capabilities. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Decision-Making and Negotiation: Effective decision-making and negotiation skills.
