Account Manager - Off Highway

Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible to defend and growth business with assigned customers and market segments in the Off-Highway market in North America, ensuring customers’ satisfaction in the area of products, price, quality, service and technology.  The Sales Manager will act as the customer ambassador for the respective product lines he/ she represents. In addition, the position will drive deep connection with customer engineering teams and customer expert’s decision makers – influencing technical-commercial decisions.   

 

 

What you can look forward to as an Account Manager - Off Highway: 

 


•    Sales responsibility of the assigned customers/ market segments in North America

 


•    Work in proximity with the Purchasing, Engineering and other key decision-making functions at assigned customers to defend the current business and develop new ones

 

 

•    Support Quality and Logistics discussion when necessary (both with the customer and inside the ZF organization)

 

 

•    Manage the relationship with the assigned customers thru virtual and in presence meetings. Travel to customers as much as necessary (25% – 50% of the time) 

 

 

•    Work on new RFQ’s together with Application Engineering, Product Management and Customer Center to ensure the relative offers to be delivered on time

 

 

•    Ensure projects are executed as requested; escalate when necessary

 

 

•    Work together with the relevant functions within ZF to deliver on-time responses to the customers (Head BU North America, Customer Center, Application Engineering, Engineering, Product Management, Product Line leaders, Quality, Logistics, etc.)

 

 

•    Proactively solve and/ or support resolution for any technical and commercial issue, escalate when necessary. Coordinate internal resources/ functions to achieve targets/ completion 

 

 

•    Support Operational Planning and forecast plans. Review customers’ production schedules and compare with plan and previous year; understand deviations

 

 

•    Manage price lists and any agreed upon commodity/ FX adjustments. Address low profitability products in agreement with the Head BU North America and the Product Line leaders
 

 

 

Your Profile as an Account Manager - Off Highway: 

 

 

•    6+ years of experience as a Sales Manager in the Off-Highway or any adjacent industry (B2B; preferably Tier 1 suppliers)

 

 

•    Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline; extensive experience will be considered in lieu of a degree 

 

 

•    Experience in working in complex/ matrix organizations

 

 

•    Sufficient technical knowledge/ understanding of complex engineering products and their value proposition

 

 

•    Proactive and Assertive

 

 

•    Good verbal and written communication skills

 

 

•    Ability to interface and lead cross-functional teams 

 

 

•    Strong team player

 

 

•    Ability/willingness to travel in North America (and sometimes overseas) up to 50% of the time
