Title: Account Representative - Part Time Location: Midtown Org Unit: Revenue Cycle Work Days: Monday-Friday Weekly Hours: 17.50 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $22.86 - $26.10 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices **Position Summary** Under direct supervision, processes payments, researches accounts and performs data entry and other related billing activities **Job Responsibilities** + Composes and maintains billing and/or billing compliance associated correspondence. Determines proper account resolution and/or adjustment as needed. + Performs charge entry and/or payment posting within the practice management billing system as needed. Tracks and resolves issues on denied claims. Resubmits or appeals claims as required. Escalates more complex claim issues when necessary. + Obtains, reviews and updates patient demographic and insurance information within the practice management billing system. + Scans all relevant documentation into patients’ eMR record. + Performs other related duties as assigned. **Education** + High school diploma or GED **Experience** Approximately 1 year of physician billing, accounts receivable or collection experience **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology. + Demonstrated knowledge of third party reimbursement. **Licenses and Certifications** **Working Conditions/Physical Demands** Standard office work Weill Cornell Medicine is a comprehensive academic medical center that is committed to excellence in patient care, scientific discovery, and the education of future physicians and scientists in New York City and around the world.
