This position will be part of the Sheeter Business Unit and will report to the Sales Director of the representative’s assigned facility supporting. The Region supported would include Winchester, VA.
Local Accounts: Sales Account Representative
Local Account Overview:
Accounts of one or more manufacturing locations where the purchasing decisions are made independently by the leadership at the local facilities and are not subject to approval by a corporate decision-making leadership team.
Role Overview:
Local Account Sales Representative will develop a portfolio of accounts by focusing on the local purchasing decision makers at facilities that can be serviced by their assigned DS Smith location (or) sister facilities that produce items to address their local customer’s packaging needs.
Areas of Responsibility:
Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry Researches and analyzes sales options Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors Learns new design innovations both graphic and structural Understands customer’s manufacturing process as it relates to our shipping containers Negotiates terms for price increases and decreases Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices Other duties as assignedExperience, Education & Certifications
4-6 years in business to business outside sales, preferably in the printing/packaging industry Prior experience selling to manufacturers in multiple industries Current Driver’s license needed Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills Must be highly organized and able to continually shift priorities based on customer needs Must be motivated to build excellent client relationship Proven ability to achieve sales quotas Must be willing and able to travel as necessary, with the majority of travel being local though there may be occasional longer distance travel if dictated by the opportunity. (following a box trial, for example)
